Why everyone keeps coming back.

Phui Congee is a beloved porridge restaurant situated in the heart of Trang, Thailand, at 1 ถนน Sathani Alley, Tambon Thap Thiang. This cozy eatery perfectly captures the essence of traditional Thai porridge, offering a comforting culinary experience that locals and travelers alike cherish. The atmosphere here is relaxed yet vibrant, with seating spilling out onto the street corner, giving diners an authentic slice of Thai life as they watch the bustling world go by.

The menu at Phui Congee, thoughtfully translated into English to welcome international visitors, features a variety of hearty and flavorful congee dishes alongside complementary Thai favorites. Signature dishes like their crispy duck have garnered raving reviews, with regulars like Ceejay Rees—a local English expat—swearing by its incredible texture and rich, savory taste. Each bowl is a warm embrace; the rice porridge is perfectly cooked to a silky smoothness, infused with layers of subtle seasoning that awaken your palate without overwhelming it.

Beyond the porridge, this spot serves up a delightful selection of Thai comfort foods with prices that remain refreshingly reasonable. The big Singha beers paired with the meals are a thoughtful touch, offering a cool contrast to the warm dishes, as noted by satisfied guests such as Robert Allen. Whether you’re a long-term visitor or a first-time traveler to Trang, Phui Congee invites you to indulge in its comforting dishes and friendly hospitality—making every meal here feel like a warm welcome home.

I've been coming to Trang for many years now and know the owner since when they were still up the road (Limoncino now). The food is still of the same RELIABLE quality, the prices too and I love sitting outside at the intersection watching the Thai world go by... Together with the Ban Aothong Hotel the perfect combo for my stays in Trang
